BUDE — Services for Lola Mae

“Big Mama” Wilkinson, 96, of Meadville, who died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Meadville, will be at 11 a.m. today at Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Church in Bude with the Rev. Willie Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Grove Church Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mrs. Wilkinson was born March 15, 1915, in Amite County, the daughter of Vareece and Nora Gill Cobb.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Guy Wilkinson; one daughter, Joyce Rice; and four sons, George Wilkinson, Wilbert Wilkinson, Guycell Wilkinson and Odis D. Wilkinson.

Survivors include five loving daughters, Gloria Huff of Antioch, Calif., Audrey McGehee and husband, Eugene, Lucille Dillon and husband, Charles, Maeola Bates and husband, Kenneth, all of Franklin County, and Pearline Watkins and husband, Samuel, of Natchez; three sons, Richard Wilkinson of Franklin County, Edward Wilkinson and wife, Sylvia, of South Holland, Ill., and Billy Wilkinson of Baton Rouge; one brother, Sammie Cobb; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
