JENA, La. — The good news for Vidalia is that the Vikings broke their two-game scoreless skid. The bad news — their defense couldn’t slow down the Jena Giants at all.

Jena’s Wing-T offense had its way with Vidalia throughout the District 3-3A opener for both teams as the Giants soundly defeated the Vikings Friday night at homecoming.

Vidalia remains winless on the season at 0-6 overall and 0-1 in district play. The Vikings host Marksville next Friday with a 7 p.m. kickoff.

Bossier 35, Block 15

BOSSIER CITY, La. — Block’s long road trip to Bossier City didn’t turn out to be a good one for head coach Benny Vault Jr.’s team as the Bears lost to the Class 3A Bossier Bearkats Friday night.

This was also Bossier’s homecoming game and the Bearkats did not disappoint the home crowd. Vault figured his team was going to be in for a long night against one of the top teams in Class 3A. Unfortunately for the Bears, his notion was right.

Block (2-4) begins District 4-1A action next Friday when it plays at LaSalle. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
