Week of Sept. 30-Oct. 6:

Jerry Shepard charged with two counts of possession of stolen items and one count of burglary of a commercial building. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Christopher Saucier guilty of failure of owner or custodian. Sentenced to 30 days jail time suspended.

Terry Huff guilty of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Sentenced to 30 days jail time suspended and two years probation. No contact with family members.

Adams County Circuit Court Cases

Wednesday, Sept. 14:

Pamela Glover Jones pleaded guilty to felony shoplifting in Judge Lillie Blackmon Sanders’ court. Sentenced to one year in the Mississippi Department of Corrections suspended and the defendant is placed in the intensive supervision program/house arrest program. Must pay all court costs within 90 days from this day (Sept. 7, 2011).

Toby Surrena entered a plea of guilty to credit cards credit card numbers use with intent to defraud in Sanders’ court. The court withholds acceptance of the defendant’s plea and enters an order of non-adjudication of guilt. Must play all court costs, a $200 prosecution fee and a fine of $400 immediately. The court retains jurisdiction for one year and the defendant is placed under the supervision of the MDOC.

Thursday, Sept. 8:

Wharlest Jackson Jr. entered a plea of guilty to grand larceny (count II) in Sanders’ court. The court withholds acceptance of the defendant’s plea and enters an order of non-adjudication of guilt. Must pay all court costs, a $200 prosecution fee, and restitution of $1,300 to AT&T with 90 days from this date (Sept. 6, 2011). Count I of the indictment (grand larceny) is dismissed. The court retains jurisdiction for one year and the defendant is placed under the supervision of the MDOC.

Frederick Frisby pleaded guilty to burglary of a storehouse in Sanders’ court. Sentenced to five years in the MDOC. After serving one year of this sentence, the remaining balance is suspended and the defendant is placed on four years post-release supervision. Credit given for time already served. Must pay all court costs and a prosecution fee of $200 within 90 days from this date (Sept. 6, 2011). All court costs and the $200 prosecution fee shall be paid to the Adams County Circuit Clerk and in the Office of the Adams County Circuit Clerk. The defendant shall enroll into and attend Narcotics Anonymous and/or Alcoholics Anonymous Program twice weekly. Other charges dismissed.

Nedrick Hawkins pleaded guilty to possession of a weapon by a convicted felon in Sanders’ court. Sentenced to five years in the MDOC suspended and the defendant is placed on five years post-release supervision. Credit given for time already served. Must pay all court costs and a prosecution fee of $200 within 90 days from this date (Sept. 6, 2011). All court costs and the $200 prosecution fee shall be paid to the Adams County Circuit Clerk and in the Office of the Adams County Circuit Clerk.

Willie Duck was indicted for murder, arson, attempted sexual battery and armed robbery on April 8, 2011. Case entered nolle prosequi in Sanders’ court for the reason that insufficient evidence exists with which to sustain a conviction.

Javon Singleton pleaded guilty in Sanders court to the lesser, included offense of carjacking. Sentenced to five years in the MDOC suspended and the defendant is placed on five years probation. Must pay all court costs and restitution of $1,100 with six months from this day (Sept. 8, 2011).

Natchez Municipal Court Cases

Friday, Sept. 23:

Ryan C. Marvel, 31, pleaded guilty to driving under suspension — revoked or suspended. Sentenced to 10 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $425.

Robie Tyon Parker, 18, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days with 28 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve 48 hours in jail. Fine set at $444.

Sharon Smith Stevens, 51, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct — failure to comply with officer. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $444. Smith also pleaded guilty to resisting arrest. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $494.

Eric Washington, 42, pleaded guilty to willful trespassing. Sentenced to 10 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $294.

Devin T. Williams, 18, charged with disturbing the peace. Case remanded to files subject to go to life skills and comply with officer.

Monday, Sept. 26:

Charles Shelton Bernard, 18, pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace by fighting. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $344.
