VIDALIA — Graveside services for Myrtle Deal, 96, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, peacefully in her sleep, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Deal was born Aug. 26, 1915, in Dublin, Ga., the daughter of Pank and Zora Belle Cobb Cooper. She was a homemaker and a long-time member of the Assembly of God Church in Jacksonville, Fla. She always loved sewing and fishing. She will always be remembered by family and friends of how often she could make you laugh.
Mrs. Deal was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, George Black and Eddie Deal; one daughter, Elaine Deal; granddaughter, Teresa Hill; two brothers, Albert and N. L. Cooper; and two sisters, Mattie Hartman and Glydean Cooper.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty Stewart of Vidalia, Margie Bryant of Hoboken, Ga. and Ruby Jacobs of Jacksonville; one sister, Evelyn Jewell of North Carolina; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren.
