A railroad cross tie lying on the Mississippi River Bridge caused an accident involving two cars and slowed traffic into Vidalia Friday.
Natchez Police Captain Tom McGehee said police presume the cross tie fell off a vehicle causing the car behind it to blow out a tire. A second car ran up onto the cross tie.
Traffic was stalled on the bridge while the vehicles and cross tie were removed. McGhee said no injuries have been reported.
