According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation the two inside northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. 61 have been closed due to an overturned 18-wheeler carrying logs in Natchez.

The accident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m.

The lane closure is at the intersection of U.S. 61 and U.S. 84, in front of the Natchez Regional Hospital, and is expected to last approximately two hours.
