NATCHEZ — Former Natchez alderman Theodore “Bubber” West died Tuesday evening at his home in the Cranfield community.
Adams County Coroner James Lee confirmed West died Tuesday of apparent natural cause, likely acute congestive heart failure.
“Bubber was a good friend,” Lee said. “He gave Natchez good service for a long time.”
West was first elected to the Natchez Board of Aldermen in 1991, serving as a representative for Ward 4 until he lost his bid for reelection in 2008.
In addition to his years of service to the City of Natchez, West also served as the president of his family’s funeral home business for years before stepping down in 2009. West was a 1967 graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School in Natchez.
