NATCHEZ — Services for James Murray, 79, of Natchez, who died Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at noon Sunday at Second Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Strickland officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 2:30 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Murray was born Nov. 2, 1931, in Natchez, the son of Aaron and Gertrude Murray. He attended Painters School in Anna’s Bottom and was self-employed as a logger.

Mr. Murray was a member of Second Union Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters; two brothers; and his wife, Hattie Washington.

Survivors include one son, Willie L. Washington and wife, Pat; four sisters, Rosetta Murray, Mary Murray, Alberta Easton and Inez Foster and husband, Robert, all of Natchez; two brothers, Aaron Murray Jr. and wife, Gloria, of Hampton, Va., and Willis Murray and wife, Nanay, of Baltimore, Md.; one grandson, Roddrick Green of Natchez; a special friend, Inez Hamilton of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Brodrick Jackson, Dennis Williams Jr., Dekeedrien Jackson, Anthony Murray, Cornelius Evans, Jarren Jones, Phillip Jackson and Larry Thornburg.
