FERRIDAY — Services for Marion Verlyn Burley, 77, of Monterey, who died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, in Vidalia, will be at 1 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Wallace officiating.
Burial will follow at Scott Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Mr. Burley was born on July 30, 1934, in Eva, the son of Marion and Clarence Burley.
Mr. Burley worked for many years in the oil field and as a farmer. He was also a member of Church Of Christ in Monterey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wesley Burley and Terry Burley; and two granddaughters, Jennifer Porco and Farran Beard.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mary Grace Burley; three sons John Burley, Will Burley and Greg Burley and wife, Pam; three daughters, Judy Porco and husband, Frank, Rita Young and husband, Dwain, and Beverly Brown and husband, Doug; 19 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Theo Burley, Kenny Burley and Donnie Burley; two sisters, Bonita Hamilton and husband, Bobby, and Evelyn Smith and husband, A.J.; and two sisters-in-law, Shellie Burley and JoAnn Burley.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Sidney Wiley, Jimmy Wade, Tommy Millican, Tucker James, Tylor James and Vernell Finley.
