NATCHEZ —Services for Hannah Ida M. “Shang” McDaniel, 87, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Hill Baptist Church No. 1 with the Rev. Melvin White officiating.

Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Ms. McDaniel was born Aug. 16, 1924, in Adams County, the daughter of William and Roxianna McDaniel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Willie Ross, Feltus McDaniel, Walter McDaniel and Aaron Crawford; and one sister, Willie Harris.

Survivors include one daughter, Roslyn Perkins and husband, Dwain, of Natchez; one son, Feltus “Terry” McDaniel of Jackson; one sister, Ruby Washington; one goddaughter, Edrena Minor “Doll” Washington; one godson, Cyrus Mitchell, all of Natchez; four grandchildren, Tonya Nelson of Florida, Dwayna Perkins of Daluth, Ga., La’Keisha McDaniel of Starkville and Dwain Perkins Jr. of Natchez; special cousins, Mary Fowler of Lafayette, La., and Ethel Skipper of Natchez; special friends and caregivers, Gayle Litt of Natchez and Cassandra Gray of Jackson.
