NATCHEZ — Services for Rebecca Compton Clark, 90, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at Meadville Nursing Home, will be at 10 a.m. today at New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Leroy White officiating.

Burial will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.

Mrs. Clark was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Jefferson County, the daughter of James Compton and Henrietta Tyler Compton. She attended Bisland School in Cannonsburg. She was employed by Hub Shoe Store and H.F. Byrne.

Mrs. Clark enjoyed cooking and attending church. She was a housewife.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Davis Clark; her parents; and six sisters, Almeta Griffin, Estella Pruitt, Catherine Ford, Susie Bell Smith, Luretta McShane and Emma Dess Stevens; and one brother, James Dunbar Compton.

Survivors include a devoted nephew, George Scott Sr. and wife, Deloris; a number of nieces and nephews, Ezella Hall, Alma Forrest, Martha Louise Haley, Bernadine Davenport and husband, Leon, and Mary Elizabeth McShane; great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins; and a devoted friend, Jeanette Harris.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
