DOLOROSO — Services for Ethel Ruth Barnes, 87, who died Oct. 29, 2011, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, were Saturday at Free Spring Baptist Church in Doloroso. Mrs. Barnes was buried at Free Spring Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Marshal Funeral Home.
She was born to parents Jasper and Bessie Stewman Carter on Jan. 18, 1924, in Lanehart.
Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wyatt Barnes; daughter, Betty Cenales and grandson Prentiss Barnes.
Survivors include six loving daughters, Martha and husband Lonnie Taylor of Baton Rouge, Gloria and husband Billy Bolin of Madison, Josephine and husband Gregory Heidelburg of Laurel, Lucille and husband Travis Dent of Woodville, Annie Abram of Fish Kill, N.Y. and Hazel Conway of Woodbridge, Va.; one devoted son, Cairl Barnes of Houston; 24 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Edna Wilson, Lilla Parker, Dorothy Kelly and Lula Hayes; one brother, Charles Carter; one sister-in-law, Ruth Dennis Barnes; one brother-in-law, Aaron Barnes; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
