Though we may or may not have a final winner in each race today — this editorial was written while polls were still open — we can all begin to move on with our lives.

And, after all the absentees are counted, we hope all sides and all citizens can agree to work together for the betterment of our community.

Adams County has major areas of concern that must be dealt with in the coming years.

Divisions have held us back, and it’s time to find compromises.

Leading a local government is not about no taxes, low taxes or exorbitant taxes. It is about making the right decisions for the community as a whole.

With a few new leaders and a few old leaders, Adams County is primed with new ideas and needed experience.

It’s a great combination for a great community.

Whether your guy won or lost, resolve today to do your part to make our county stronger.

We’ll all be better for it.
