BATON ROUGE — The Ferriday Trojans saw their season come to an end Friday night as they were blown out by the undefeated University Lab Cubs 46-12 in the bi-district round of the LHSAA Class 2A Playoffs.
“We were outmatched. They had a much better team. They played real well. We did not play well,” Ferriday head coach Richard Oliver said. “We had a lot of youth and inexperience. A lot of kids (on Ferriday’s team) didn’t have a lot of experience. We have to go back to the drawing board.”
University Lab, the No. 6 seed, improved to 11-0 and advanced to next week’s regional round. Ferriday, which got in as the No. 27 seed, finished at 5-6 on the season.
