NATCHEZ — Services for David Foster Stanley, 85, of Natchez, who died Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. Alfred Camp officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Stanley was born Oct. 11, 1926, in Sontag. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy for 12 years. He was a custodian at St. Mary Basilica for 20 years.

Mr. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Sharon Renee Stanley; and one son, David B. Stanley.

Survivors include his wife, Lore Patt Stanley; three children, Roy Stanley and wife, Kelly, of Vidalia, Dennis Stanley and Susan Stanley, both of Natchez; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Troy “Bo” Parnell, Troy Whittington, Tommy Norris, Cody Lambert, Patrick Lambert and Marty Albright.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary Basilica, 107 S. Union St., Natchez, MS 39120.
