NATCHEZ — Services for Clarence Jones Sr., 84, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. George Burden officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. Jones was born Dec. 8, 1926, in Vidalia, the son of Charlie Jones and Luvina Griggs-Jones. He was a graduate of St. Francis Catholic High School and was a lumber professional whose career included more than 50 years of employment with J.M. Jones Lumber Company.
Mr. Jones was a lifelong member of Holy Family Catholic Church, a fourth degree of The Order of the Knights of Peter Claver, third degree of The Order of the Knights of Peter Claver and Eucharistic minister.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Leora Washington; and one brother, Charlie Jones Jr.
Survivors include a loving wife, Josephine Jones; two sons, Harold Giles and wife, Mary, and Clarence Jones Jr. and wife, Dolly; one daughter, Karen Willis and husband, Dwayne; four sisters, Alice Husband, Mary Harris and husband, Joseph, Betty Whitley and husband, Josh, and Alice Brown and husband, Fred; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
