TERRY — Caitlyn Spane led Terry with a game-high 32 points as the host Lady Bulldogs held on for a 52-50 win over the visiting Natchez High Lady Bulldogs Tuesday night to open up MHSAA Region 6-6A play.
Spane’s offensive performance almost turned out to be for naught. After Terry outscored Natchez High 18-10 to turn a 26-25 halftime deficit into a 43-36 lead, Terry scored just nine points in the fourth quarter. Luckily for the host Lady Bulldogs, the visiting Lady Bulldogs from Natchez didn’t score enough points to overtake them.
Allison Johnson added 10 points for Terry. Natchez High (8-2, 0-1) was led by Ashley Minor with 16 points and Keyana Miller with 12 points. The NHS Lady Bulldogs host rival Jefferson County Friday night.

Block took control of the game in the early stages of the first quarter on its way to an 18-8 lead by the end of the quarter. And with four players for the Lady Bears scoring in double figures, that made it even more difficult for Ferriday to mount a comeback.
Tashundra Johnson led Block (2-4) with 19 points while Tinesha Branch had 14 points and Rosie Jefferson and Quinesha Branch added 12 points apiece. Ferriday (0-5) was led by ShaKeria Kelly and MeElle Reed with 19 points each.

Terry led Natchez High 33-26 at halftime, but the visiting Bulldogs put forth an impressive third quarter as they outscored the host Bulldogs 25-15 to take a 51-48 lead. Yet Terry responded with several key defensive stops in the fourth quarter, holding Natchez High to just 10 points while scoring 14 points itself for the dramatic come-from-behind win.

Monterey trailed Forest 33-29 at halftime and 51-40 after three quarters of play. But the Wolves made some big defensive stops in the fourth quarter that got them back in the game, but they just couldn’t quite get over the hump despite scoring 19 points to 11 for Forest.
