MONTEREY — Services for Mildred Bernice Pecanty, 88, of Monterey, who died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Collierville, Tenn., will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Eva Church of God with the Rev. Gorden Finlay officiating.
Burial will follow at Steele Cemetery in Monterey under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
Mrs. Pecanty was born Dec. 18, 1922, in Monterey, the daughter of Wesley Steele and Isabelle Steele. She was retired from Concordia Parish School Board and was a member of Eva Church of God.
Mrs. Pecanty was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Pecanty Sr.; her parents; and one sister, Betty Smith.
Survivors include one son, Wesley Eugene Pecanty Jr. and wife, Lorna, of Holly Springs; one brother, Wesley Steele of Vidalia; three sisters, Elmira Steele of Monterey, Elsie Mouch of Geismar, La., and Linda Manuel and husband, Delbert, of Lake Charles; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery Paul, Sonny Wactor, James Mouch, David Mouch, Mike Mouch and Layne Mouch.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Wesberry and Joe Manuel.
