The Gift is a Christmas gift of sorts for the many special residents in our community. The special edition of The Democrat is crammed full of news and information about our community.

“We hope each person receiving a copy of the newspaper enjoys reading it as much as we enjoy producing it,” Democrat publisher Kevin Cooper said. “The newspaper reaches more people than any other media in the area, and it’s absolutely the best way to stay informed about things that matter in our community.”

The Democrat’s staff has worked hard to provide a sample of some of the types of news that is featured throughout a regular week of coverage.

For The Democrat’s usual readers, today’s edition is just more of what they enjoy on a daily basis — news and information about the community that we all love and call home.

For new readers, The Gift is a sample of what you may be missing each week.

“We hope after reading today’s newspaper and seeing all the great news, information and advertising that we offer each week that you’ll consider subscribing,” Cooper said. “We offer a number of ways to subscribe, from monthly plans to annual discounted options.”

The simplest option for subscribing is our EZ-Pay program. EZ-Pay subscribers get 365 days of The Democrat, delivered to their homes for only $13.50 per month, automatically drafted from their account without any worries about bills or writing checks.

Today’s complimentary issue is made possible thanks to the many businesses whose marketing messages grace the 32 pages that follow this one. Without the financial help of those local businesses, the newspaper wouldn’t be possible.

“The cost of the newspaper can often be easily paid for in the savings that are offered each day in the newspaper’s advertising,” Cooper said. “In a given week, readers can see thousands of dollars in potential savings through special offers businesses promote in their advertising.

“The best way to hear about those deals and the only way to stay on top of news and issues affecting our community is through the newspaper. We hope you enjoy The Gift and our staff wishes you all a Merry Christmas!”
