NATCHEZ — Natchez police received a little help apprehending three robbery suspects Tuesday.

Natchez Interim Police Chief Danny White said an NPD officer responded to a report Tuesday by a woman whose said her purse was reportedly snatched at approximately 8 p.m. by a man asking for directions in the parking lot of Tara Apartments on Briarwood Road.

While the officer was at the scene, White said the department received a call from Kaiser’s Food and Fuel that a woman had attempted to use the robbery victim’s credit card at the store.

A clerk at Kaiser’s told police that the woman left the store with two men in a champagne-colored Chevrolet headed to the Natchez Mall.

An officer spotted the car at the mall, White said, and apprehended the suspects.

Dondi Dixon, 25, 715 F St., Jamie Hollins, 20, 125 John Glenn Ave., and Alexandra L. Shell, 18, 125 Lower Woodville Road, were all charged Wednesday with robbery.

White said he applauds the clerk’s alertness and willingness to report the crime.

“If we had more people that (gave tips), we would have less crime,” White said. “The more information (people) can give us, the sooner we can catch criminals.”

White said Hollins was also charged with an additional count of robbery after reportedly Hollins confessed to robbing a 67-year-old woman Sunday at Mark Apartments on Lower Woodville Road.

Shell’s bond is set at $50,000. No bond has been set for Hollins or Dixon.
