FERRIDAY — It was a wallet, but a Ferriday man has been arrested on charges of purse snatching.
Kevin C. Necase, 25, 604 First St., was arrested Thursday on charges of purse snatching and two counts unauthorized use of an access card.
The incident happened on Tennessee Avenue, where Necase reportedly approached the victim — an 84-year-old man — at the his home, asking for money, Ferriday Police Chief Johnny Evans said.
When the victim removed his wallet to give Necase money, he allegedly snatched the wallet and ran away, later using two credit cards in the wallet to make purchases.
Some of the items from the wallet were recovered and returned to their owner, but the wallet was lost, Evans said.
Necase was detained without bond Friday.
