MENDENHALL — Natchez High had a hard time getting shots to fall for much of the first three quarters in their game against Florence Thursday afternoon at the Mendenhall High School Christmas Tournament.

That was the bad news for the Lady Bulldogs. The good news was that the Lady Eagles were not able to jump out to an insurmountable lead. And Natchez High made them pay for that with a 27-point fourth quarter that came out of nowhere as the Lady Bulldogs rallied to defeat Florence 49-42 to finish 3-0 in tournament play.

Despite scoring just seven points in the first quarter and a mere three points in the third quarter, Natchez High was only down 10-7 after one quarter of play and 28-22 at the end of three quarters. Then the Lady Bulldogs caught fire in the fourth quarter and wound up outscoring the Lady Eagles 27-14 for the amazing come-from-behind victory.
