NATCHEZ — A Natchez man was stabbed in the face with a crack pipe outside the Stewpot Tuesday after a verbal argument turned physical.
Natchez Police Lt. Craig Godbold said the victim and a female acquaintance were reportedly arguing when the woman allegedly stabbed him with the pipe then hit him in the face with a brick shortly before noon.
The victim suffered a minor cut and a chipped tooth, Godbold said, and was taken to Natchez Regional Medical Center for treatment and released shortly thereafter.
The offense on the report initially filed by the victim was aggravated assault, but Godbold said the charge will be downgraded to simple assault.
Godbold said he believes the victim plans to file charges against the woman today.
