NATCHEZ — Services for Lionel Griffin, 59, of Natchez, who died Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at noon Saturday at Zion Flower Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Strickland officiating.
Burial will follow at Second Union Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. to day at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Griffin was born July 26, 1952, in Tensas Parish, the son of Bennie and Laura Griffin. He attended Natchez public schools and was employed by Orleans Parish School Board. He was Baptist.
Mr. Griffin enjoyed sports, music and singing.
Survivors include one son, Lionel Carter of McComb; four brothers, Lee Arthur Griffin and wife, Emma, Kenneth Griffin and wife, Traci, all of Natchez, Thomas Wayne Griffin and wife, Marie, of New Orleans and Johnny Griffin and wife, Debra, of North Carolina; two sisters, Linda Montgomery and husband, Riley, of Natchez and Mildred Jackson of Harvey, La.; and special someone, Cynthia Joseph of New Orleans.
