NATCHEZ — The Adams County Board of Supervisors met Thursday to discuss personnel matters.
Items on the agenda included an employee performance review and interviews for the positions of road manager and executive assistant to the board/inventory clerk.
Most of the meeting was conducted in executive session.
Interviews are conducted in executive session to provide a reasonable expectation of privacy for the interviewees, Board Attorney Scott Slover said.
For example, interviewees may not want their current employers to know they are interviewing for a different job, he said.
Both positions were filled Thursday, but President Darryl Grennell said Thursday evening he had not had a chance to notify the new hires.
During the meeting, the supervisors also passed a motion allowing the continued use of Title III funds.
Title III funds are used in the County Extension Service, Grennell said.
The Title III program has ended in the county, but excess funds remained, Supervisor David Carter said.
The county is still allowed to access those funds, however, as long the supervisors authorize it, he said.
