FERRIDAY — Services for Wesley Marion Steele, 73, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with the Rev. Gordon Finlay officiating.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Steele was born Oct. 17, 1938, in Eva, La., the son of David Wesley Steele and Marion “Belle” Steele. He was a building contractor and owned various construction related businesses.

He was preceded in death by one son, Richard Steele Sr.; his parents; and two sisters, Betty Smith and Mildred Pecanty.

Survivors include two daughters, Rhonda Hotard and husband, Bennett, of Convent, La., and Patricia Steele of Monterey; three sisters, Elmira Steele of Monterey, Linda Manuel and husband, Delbert, of Lake Charles, La., and Elsie Mouch of Geismer, La.; seven grandchildren, Wendy Steele, Richard Steele Jr., and Hanna Steele, Wesley Cole Rabb, Linsey Edwards, Jordan Hotard and Jessica Hotard; and five great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may me made to the American Cancer Society.
