NATCHEZ — Maddy Christian had probably the best individual performance in the decade-plus history of Cathedral varsity girls’ soccer on a cold Friday night at D’Evereaux Stadium.

Christian scored three goals to go along with three assists as the Lady Green Wave remained undefeated in MHSAA Region 6-1A/2A/3A with a 7-0 win over the Wesson Lady Cobras.

But she wasn’t the only player who had a big game for Cathedral. Caitlin Lofton also scored three goals while Paige Foster had a goal and an assist. Anna Margaret Foster had an assist of her own.

The Lady Green Wave takes on Loyd Star next Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the soccer field at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson. The game was originally scheduled for last Tuesday, but was postponed due to inclement weather.

And because of the Cathedral-Loyd Star varsity games being played this Tuesday, Cathedral’s games against non-region opponent North Pike have been canceled and will not be made up.
