$40,000 in lawn merchandise stolen

NATCHEZ — More than $40,000 in equipment was stolen from Rodgers Lawn and Garden on U.S. 61 on Monday or Tuesday.
According to the Natchez Police Department report, a man driving by the business noticed the front door laying on the ground and contacted police and the business’ owner.
Officers at the scene noticed the back door open and the lock and chain cut from the back fence. The owner reported the business’ telephone lines were cut and alarm horns disconnected.
According to the police report, the business owner reported the following items stolen:
-Two Exmark zero-turn lawnmowers valued at $6,000-$8,000 each.
-15 Stihl chainsaws ranging from $300-$1,200 each.
-15 Husqvarna chainsaws ranging from $500-$1,800 each.
-Three Husqvarna weed cutters valued at $300 each.
-12 Stihl weed cutters valued at $200 each.
-One Stihl backpack leaf blower valued at $600.
-One 20-foot Neckover gooseneck trailer.
-One .44 magnum handgun and one .38-caliber handgun.
