NATCHEZ — A man arrested 15 times and most recently sentenced to 20 years in jail for drug sales found himself in familiar territory at the Adams County Jail Tuesday.

Christopher Cornish, 39, 307 S. Bluebird Drive, was arrested on charges of selling cocaine and one charge of selling it in a church zone.

His most recent arrest was on charges of the sale of a Schedule II controlled substance—cocaine and the sell and transfer of a schedule II controlled substance — cocaine in a school or church zone.

Cornish was arrested after a narcotics agent made an illegal narcotics purchase from him in the 100 block of St. Catherine Street, according to Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield.

Cornish was out of jail on five years post-release probation after being sentenced in May 2011 by Judge Lillie Sanders to serve only one day of his 20-year-sentence.

In July 2010, an ACSO deputy reportedly tried to pull Cornish over for a seat belt violation and instead had to pursue him to State Street.

Deputies later recovered crack cocaine Cornish had reportedly tossed into the street during the chase during that incident.
