NATCHEZ — Memorial services for John Nevins Davis Jr., 83, of Natchez, who died Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, in El Dorado, Ark., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Davis was born Aug. 14, 1928, in El Dorado, the son of John N. and Catherine Reynolds Davis. He was the oldest of four siblings.

He opened a bed and breakfast in his new home, High Point, a historic Victorian home on Linton Avenue. John operated the B&B for some 20 years, earning the B&B of the Year by the Natchez Chamber of Commerce in the mid 1990s along with several other distinguishing awards.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William T. Davis.

Survivors include two sisters, Florence Ann Davis Atkinson of Houston and Lora Kay Davis Johnston and a number of nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Natchez Humane Society or First Presbyterian Church.
