Krewe of Natchez Indians Mardi Gras royalty

The Krewe of the Natchez Indians recently announced their royalty who will reign 2012. Their royal ball will be at 7 p.m. Saturday by invitation only.
Big Chief VI
Reginald Thomas
Reggie Thomas is a native of Natchez. He is the son of Barbara S. Latham and has one sister, Maureen S. Hauer, and one brother, Michael Thomas. He is married to YaMika S. Thomas and has four children, Reginald Jaime Thomas, Jeremy A. Butler, Raheem Demond Khylil Thomas and Anfernee Malik Davieon Thomas. He also has one godchild, Anyla Janae’ Herring. Thomas is a graduate of South Natchez High School and attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College. He retired from Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc. a job that took him to Mexico, London, Dubai, Singapore and Europe. He is currently employed by Ensign Drilling and is a member of Forest Aid Missionary Baptist Church. On his days off he enjoys spending time with family, riding his motorcycle, entering billiard tournaments, fishing and hunting.

YaMika Shante’ Thomas
YaMika Shante’ Madison Thomas is a native of Natchez. She is the daughter of Willard J. Madison and Martha R. Madison and has three brothers, Kelvin Alexander, Montrell Fleming and Damien Woods. She is married to Reginald Thomas and has two children, Raheem Demond Khylil and Anfernee Malik Davieon Thomas. She also has one godchild, Anyla Janae’ Herring. Thomas is a graduate of Natchez High School and Copiah-Lincoln Community College. She is currently a senior at Alcorn State University. She is employed by the Natchez-Adams School District. Thomas is a member of Forest Aid Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Lucy Barnes Chapter No. 16 Order of Eastern Star. She enjoys spending time with family, reading and shopping. Miko is a charter member and the financial secretary of the krewe. She is elated to reign as Majestic Queen VI.
Duchess Jacqueline Cameron
Duchess Jacqueline Cameron is the daughter of Robert and Jacqueline McNeely and has one sister, Lekeshia Jones. She is the wife of Douglas Cameron Jr. They have one son, Tristin Cameron, and are expecting their second son in April of this year. She graduated from Natchez High School, where she danced as a Lady Blue. Cameron received her bachelor’s of science in nutrition and dietetics from Alcorn State University, where she danced as a Golden Girl. Jacqueline works for Corrections Corporation of America in Houston. She enjoys spending time with her family, dancing, bowling, traveling and shopping.
Duchess Juanita Hawkins
Duchess Juanita Hawkins, a native of Natchez, is the daughter of Josephine Hawkins, the late Samuel Hawkins Jr. and the late Mary Hawkins. Hawkins is very family oriented. She has three children, Joseph, Jawan and Jakeisha Hawkins; and two grandchildren, RaVon Campbell and JayVarrius Edwards. Juanita is the third of seven children. Her siblings are Mary Lee, Barbara, Jessie, Bettye, Lawrence and the late L.V. Hawkins. As a graduate of North Natchez High School in the class of 1972, she currently serves as class president. She has been an employee of Natchez Community Hospital for more than 15 years. Hawkins is an active member of Smithland Baptist Church. In her spare time she enjoys shopping, reading and spending time with family and friends. Juanita has experienced many trials and tribulations in her lifetime but she conquered all through faith.
Duchess Veronica McMorris
Duchess Veronica McMorris is the daughter of Celia Banks and James Myles. She is a 1988 graduate of South Natchez High School and a 1990 graduate of Finesse Beauty College. Veronica is also a member of Bright Morning Star Baptist Church. She is the mother of Jermy and Jasmine McMorris. She is co-owner of Club Martini as well as a promoter of live entertainment. In her spare time she loves to entertain, travel, shop, play cards and cook.
Duke James “Jamie” Harrison Matthews Jr.
Duke James “Jamie” Harrison Matthews Jr., of Natchez, is the son of James Harrison Matthews Sr. and Myrna Morris Matthews. Matthews graduated from Natchez High School in 2006, and he did further studies at Alcorn State University. Matthews is currently employed with Jordan Carrier as a truck driver. He is the proud father of Jaylen Matthews and Kaylisa White. Jamie enjoys riding four-wheelers, riding horses, singing, and spending time with the kids. He is a member of St. John United Methodist Church in Natchez.
