NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Samuel William Lewis Sr., 74, of Natchez, who died Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson after a lengthy illness, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Natchez Moose Lodge.

Arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Lewis was retired from International Paper Company with 41 years of service. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose for 30 years and attained the highest honor, the Pilgrim Degree of Merit.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Lewis; his parents, Samuel and M.C. Lewis; and one brother, Paul David Lewis.

Survivors include one son, Sam Lewis Jr. and wife, Brenda; one daughter, Elaine Lewis, all of Natchez; one sister, Peggy Farlow of Summrall; two brothers, George Marion Lewis of Cedar Lake, Ind., and Neal Lewis of Brookhaven; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family extends special thanks to the doctors and staff at Natchez Regional Medical Center and Dr. Voyles and staff at Baptist Hospital.
