WOODVILLE — Services for Maggie Credit Porter, 81, of Woodville, who died Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at Field Memorial Community Hospital in Centreville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Allen Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Leonard Dawson officiating.

Burial will follow at East Cedar Rest Cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Porter was born July 11, 1930, in Woodville, the daughter of Jim Credit and Pearlie Ross Credit.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward Porter; one son, Johnny Lee Smith; and one daughter, Etta Poole.

Survivors include three sons, Woodrow Lindsey and wife, Thelma, Edward Likely Jr. and Jerry Credit; three daughters, Linda Linscomb, Audrey Woodside, both of Woodville, and Pastor Mary Alice Monroe and husband, Albert, of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Henry Credit and Gene McDonald, both of Natchez; one sister, Beatrice Cann and husband, Henry, of Baton Rouge; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
