NATCHEZ — Natchez police charged one man with statutory rape Wednesday and are expecting arrests of two more suspects in connection with an incident that happened on Monday.

Mario K. Byrd, 24, 1-B Ingram Circle, was charged with one felony count of statutory rape and has no bond.

Natchez Police Lt. Craig Godbold said Wednesday he could not provide any further information about the incident until the two other suspects are arrested. He said he expects the arrests in the next couple of days.
