VIDALIA — Services for Raymond G. Smith, 76, of Vidalia, who died Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at Camelot Leisure Living in Ferriday, will be at 10 a.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia with the Rev. Richard Cullum and the Rev. Ron Ledford officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Mr. Smith was born July 22, 1935, in Winnsboro, La., the son of Oscar and Erseal Smith. He was a tire builder, farmer and a member of Sycamore Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Arlene Richardson, and his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Bobbie Smith; three daughters, Jean Johnson, Gayle Smith and Barbara Smith and husband, Danny, all of Vidalia; four grandchildren, Arelon Ray Smith, Jamie Lynn Johnson, Andrew “Andy” Gerald Smith and Aubrey Lane Smith; two sisters, Donis Graves and husband, Bobby, of Farmerville, La., and Betty Fussell and husband, Thomas, of Crowville, La.; and one brother, Doyle Smith and wife, Joann, of Calhoun, La.
Pallbearers will be James Edward Arceneaux, Billy Joe Arceneaux, Jerry Coghlon, Tommy Fussell, Barry Weatherly and Tim Welch.
The family thanks Mrs. Edwards and the CNA’s that helped to take care of Mr. Smith and a special thanks to his roommate, Richard “Blue” Moungle.
