NATCHEZ — A group of volunteers from Slidell, La., picked up the Adams County search for the missing Mangham, La., man Monday.
According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, the search and rescue group covered more than 1,000 acres of wooded land in the Kingston area, where the abandoned truck of Shaun Thornhill, 41, was originally found Jan. 25. Two live-search and five cadaver dogs were brought in for the search.
Tuesday, the team was re-directed to St. Francisville, La., where the last known sighting of Thornhill occurred on Jan. 22.
The ACSO and Adams County Search and Rescue had previously searched the Kingston area for Thornhill, but called off the search last week. During the initial efforts, helicopter pilots with Air Evac flew over the area in aid of the rescue or recovery effort.
Even though the search has ended for the area, the ACSO still welcomes any reports or sightings of Thornhill, who is 5-foot-10-inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has blue eyes.
Sightings can be reported at 601-442-2752.
