NATCHEZ — Services for Pecolia Tillman “Sweet” Bonds, 79, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jerusalem Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Wright officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Paul Old Sixteen Cemetery in Kirby under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Greater New Bethel Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bonds was born April 14, 1932, in Franklin County, the daughter of King Emanuel Tillman and Rosie Nelson Tillman. She was a sales clerk at Natchez Electric and manager of former B&C Auto Parts Store.
Mrs. Bonds was a member of Greater New Bethel Baptist Church and served on the Mother Board.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Willie L. Bonds Sr.; six sons, Mason Bonds and wife, LeBessa, Willie Bonds Jr. and David Wayne Bonds and wife, JoAnn, all of Houston, Texas, Willie Edward Griffin and wife, LuVenia, of Huntsville, Ala., Manuel Bonds and wife, Diane, and Vincent Bonds and wife, Laura, all of Natchez; 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one brother, Dr. J.D. Tillman and wife, Rose, of Roxie; one sister, Claudell Brown of Kirby; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be sons.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
