BYRAM — Services for Louvenia Patrick, 85, who died Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Chancellor Funeral Home Chapel in Byram with Dr. Jerry Smith officiating.

Burial will follow at the Terry Cemetery under the direction of Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Patrick lived most of her childhood and all of her adult life in the Terry area. There she met and married the love of her life, Kenneth Patrick. They made their home and raised their children on Kenneth’s home-place. They farmed the land, raising vegetables to sell at the Central Farmer’s Market in Jackson where they had a booth for more the 30 years.

Mrs. Patrick took great joy in the number of friends she made at the Farmer’s Market where she greeted everyone with a warm smile and friendly conversation.

Mrs. Patrick was a humble servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her faith in the Lord was strong and unshakable and through her sweet spirit she passed her love for the Lord to all around her. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Patrick was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Louie and Vida Thomas; two brothers, Jewel Thomas and Marvin Thomas; and three sisters, Zadie Harrigill, Zanie Anderson and Myrtil Payne.

Survivors include one son, Don Patrick and wife, Becky; one daughter, Edie Hudson and husband, Bill; one sister, Myrtis McManus and husband, John, all of Terry; five grandchildren, Danny McGowan and wife, Michelle, of Dallas, Amy McKinney and husband, Mackie, of Memphis, Tenn., SPC Kevin Patrick, U.S. Army, Fort Campbell, Ky., Cindy Rice and husband, Larry, of Brandon, and the Rev. Bill Hudson and wife, Robbie, of Natchitoches, La.; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed and long remembered by all who knew her.
