NEW ORLEANS — Services for Audley Ransom Jr., 63, of New Orleans, who died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, in New Orleans, will be at noon Saturday at Labat Charbonnet Glapion Funeral Home Chapel of the Roses with the Rev. Ronnie London officiating.
Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in New Orleans under the direction of Labat Charbonnet Glapion Funeral Home in New Orleans.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Ransom was born in Natchez, the son of Ordley and Thelma Ransom of Natchez. He was a retired bus driver for the Orleans Parish School Board and a retired self-employed cab driver.
Survivors include his loving wife, Glenda Bell Ransom; five children, Audley Joseph and wife, Valerie, of Atlanta, Lisa Donahue and husband, Errol, of Houston, Texas, Yolanda Ransom Holland and Ashley Bell, both of New Orleans and Christopher Henry and wife, Christina, of Dallas; five sisters, Jessie J. Graves and husband, Kenneth, of Columbia, Md., Thelma Ford and husband, Larnell, Corine Reed and husband, Charlie, Aurine White and husband, Bodie, and Lillian Page and husband, Jerry, all of Natchez; three brothers, Claude Ransom and Wayne Ransom, both of Natchez, and Dave Ransom and wife, Rhonda, of Lawton, Okla.; four aunts, Bessie Ransom, Sylvia Washington, Katie Thomas and Marie “Fannie” Ransom, all of Natchez; one uncle, Clarence Ransom of Natchez; seven grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
