GLOSTER — Services for Thelma Lee Ashley, 85, of Saukum, who died Saturday, March 3, 2012, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2012, at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Gloster with the Revs. Howard Peak, Greg Touchstone and Toby Jones officiating.

Burial will follow in Roseland Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home Monday.

Ms. Ashley was born April 28, 1926, in Saukum, the daughter of Louis Ashley and Cisley Day Ashley.

She was a retired bookkeeper and accountant and a member of Union Baptist Church near Crosby.

Ms. Ashley was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Earl Ashley, Virgil “Pete” Ashley and Gurvis Ashley; sisters, Mae Frierson and Geneva Havard; nephew, Daniel Keith Ashley, and great-nephew, Clifton Dywayne Ashley.

Survivors include two nieces, Rita Ashley, of Hattiesburg, Geraldine Felter and husband, Herbert E. Felter, of Saukum; seven nephews, Avon McGee, and wife, Nora, of Baton Rouge, Alvin Havard, and wife, Sadie, of Jackson, La., Don Havard, and wife, Marie, of Jackson, La., Phillip Frierson of Tallulah, Jimmy Ashley, Clifton Ashley, and wife, Lesa Ashley, Ken Ashley and wife, Paula, all of Saukum; sister-in-law, Bobbie Ashley of Saukum, special cousin, Bobbie Smith of Natchez; most special friend and caregiver, Carol Yarbrough, of Crosby; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
