CHURCH HILL — Services for Barbara Jean Davis, 45, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Gospel Temple Baptist Church in Church Hill with the Rev. Lonnie Culbert officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation was from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Davis was born May 5, 1966, the daughter of Goldman Long and Gloria Jean Davis.

Mrs. Davis was employed by Devereaux Shields Bed and Breakfast and was a Baptist. She was the love of her family.

Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her father; her grandparents, Willie and Emma Davis; three aunts, Gretchen and Avis Davis and Irma Overton; one uncle, Sammy Davis; one great-uncle, Sam White; father-figure, James Young, and one brother-in-law, Joseph Williams.

Survivors include her mother; one daughter, Cynthia and her fiancee, Dwayne Blackwell; one son, Edward Davis; one granddaughter, A’Nya “Nookie,” of Natchez; Mrs. Davis’ fiancee, Anthony Lewis of Natchez; nine brothers and sisters, James Davis and wife, Marla, Antonia Russell and husband, Benjamin, all of Jackson, Curtis Davis and wife, Jemekia, Freddie Davis and wife, Delores, all of Hattiesburg, Nicole Williams, Kelly Davis and Archie Davis, all of Natchez, Gretchen Davis of Austin, Texas, and Jennie Lynn Armstead of Hammond, La.; aunts and uncles, Charles and wife, Ameka, Elijah, Allen, Willie, Frank, Gwendolyn, Linda, Odessa, Vinnie, Celia and Beulah; 22 Nieces and nephews; two nieces, Anissa and Lekeshia Harris and two nephews, Brian and Curtis “Duke” Davis that she raised and cared for as if they were her own; special aunt, Marjorie Davis of Natchez; and a number of cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be Edward Owens, D’Eddie Collins, Troy Banks Jr., Oliver Davis, Montrell Gooden, Dondric Graze and Jessie Caston Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be brothers and uncles.
