WOODVILLE — Graveside services for Howard Glen Scott, 92, of Garland, Texas, formerly of Natchez, who died Jan. 25, 2012, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery in Woodville with the Rev. Dr. Richard Wood, pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Natchez.
Burial will follow under the direction of Newman Funeral Home of Woodville/Centreville.
Mr. Scott was born in Doloroso, the son of Howard Walter and Mary Elizabeth Bunch Scott. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the European Theater and in the U.S. Air Force Reserves until 1956. He was a 1948 graduate of the University of Texas, receiving a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering.
Mr. Scott was employed as a civil and structural engineer for more than 40 years by Brown and Root Company and others.
He was an elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church and a member of the Garland Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys McCalip Scott in 1999, after 58 years of marriage and wife, Bobbie Garner Scott in 2010, after five years of marriage; his parents; three brothers, Harry, Nolan and Roy Scott; and one sister, Nita Scott Sesser.
Survivors include one sister, Ella Mae Scott Jeter Howkins of Savannah, Ga.; nephews, nieces and cousins, including Marion McLendon of Cedar Hill, Texas, Gayle Sheehan of Duncanville, Texas, Jim McLendon of Georgetown, Texas, Howard Sessor of Lincoln, Calif., Sharon Boyd of Joplin, Mo., and Dianne Bunch of Natchez.
The family requests that memorials be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church Mission Fund.
