VIDALIA — Memorial services honoring Gregory “Greg” Ernest Couture Sr., who lost his life to cancer Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Vidalia Riverfront Community Prayer Garden, located across from Promise Hospital, with the Rev. Ray Varnado officiating.

Mr. Couture was born Jan. 12, 1949, the son of James Issac Couture and Anne Averett Wilson. He was a carpenter and painter by trade.

Mr. Couture was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, Archie and Mary Ann Averett; paternal grandparents, Napoleon Couture and Myhalie McCoy Couture Standiford; one brother, Jimmy Couture; and a number of loving pets.

Survivors include his wife, Jeannie Couture; one son, Gregory Couture Jr.; one daughter, Sarah Couture, all of Vidalia; one stepdaughter, Amanda Averett of Monroe, La.; two sisters, Traci Wilson of Vidalia and Lynell Tornow and husband, Steve, of South Dakota; four nephews, Jamie and David Couture of Hattiesburg, Jason Clark of Gilbert, La., and Lincoln Feistner of South Dakota; three nieces, Lori Clark of Vidalia, Stephanie Richardson of Hattiesburg and Leslie Ohlrogge of South Dakota; father and mother-in-law, Gene and Pat Brown of Natchez; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lori and Kenny Isbell of Natchez and Jeff and Yvette Beamon of Baton Rouge; aunts, uncles, great-nieces and nephews and a number of friends.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial account has been set up at Delta Bank to help the family with medical and final expenses.
