NATCHEZ — Services for Edward Harold Sterling, 91, of Natchez, who died March 23, 2012, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Jackson, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bert Felder officiating.

Burial will follow in the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and 1 p.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

“E.H.” or Harold, was born March 23, 1921, in Gloster, the son of Ellie Hyde Sterling and Rhoda Berryhill Prather Sterling. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was employed by Perilli Armstrong Tire in Natchez upon his retirement.

Sterling was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Esther Sterling; his second wife, Lois Sterling; and one brother, Bill Prather.

Survivors include one son, Charles Harold Sterling and wife, Inette, of Summit; two sisters, Marguerite Prather Felder, formerly of Liberty now residing in Pearl River, La., and Frances Sterling Ellis of Stone Mountain, Ga.; three grandchildren, Lindsay Sterling Bond and husband, Thomas Bond, of McComb, Emily Sterling and Haley Sterling, both of Summit; and a number of nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Felder, Ralph Ellis, Charles Felder, Thomas Bond, Steve Richie and Glen Peoples.
