WISNER, La. — Services for Cecil Calvin Ferrington, 75, of Dunbarton, La., who died Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Rapides General Medical Center in Alexandria, La., will be at 2 p.m. today at First Pentecostal of Wisner with the Rev. Peyton Sparks and the Rev. Dennis Baker officiating.
Burial will follow at Cypress Grove Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Mr. Ferrington was born Sept. 12, 1936, in Wisner, the son of Eldon “Monk” Ferrington and Alma Walker Ferrington. He owned and operated Cecil’s Auto Repair for 32 years.
Mr. Ferrington was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Nila Faye “Mickey” Paris; and one granddaughter, Sarah Virginia Oliveaux.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Cowan Ferrington; one daughter, Donna Kay Oliveaux; one son, Charles Ferrington and wife, Tammy; six grandchildren, Eddie Dye, Brooke Oliveaux, Dylan Price, Colby, Drew and Gabe Ferrington; three great-grandchildren, Sophie, Taylon and Caden; one brother, Bobby Joe Ferrington and wife, Gail; two sisters, Sue Cowan and Glenda Cobb and husband, Billy; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Billy Cobb, Brent McCarthy, Craig Cowan, Joey Davidson, Kenneth Hedricks, Paul Harris, Robert Campbell and Tommy Russell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Cowan, Darryl Cowan, Justin Cowan and Kenneth Walsworth.
