NATCHEZ — The Natchez Police Department is investigating a shooting at Susie B. West Apartments Tuesday that left one man injured.

Lt. Craig Godbold said Brad King, 28, 5 Stardust Road, was shot in the abdomen. Godbold said police believe King was involved in an altercation because multiple rounds were fired during the incident. Godbold said police have not determined whether King fired any shots.

A Natchez police report states that a Lewis Drive resident reported a bullet entered her residence Tuesday, but police could not immediately identify where the bullet had stopped.

King was taken to Natchez Community Hospital Tuesday then airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson for further treatment.

Peggy Wagner, administrative assistant for the hospital’s division of public affairs, said Wednesday afternoon King was in good condition.
