JONESVILLE — Services for Willard Dawson Chevallier, 83, of Jonesville, who died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, La., will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Liberty Worship Center with the Rev. Mack Walker and the Rev. Lester Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Chevallier was born Dec. 20, 1928, in Catahoula Parish, the son of Lonnie Chevallier and Minnie Chevallier. He was a farmer.
Mr. Chevallier proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sibbie Bordelon Chevallier; his parents; one brother, Raymond Chevallier; and one sister, Corine Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Chevallier; two sons, Acie White and wife, Penny, of Monterey and Willard Chevallier Jr. and wife, Amy, of Jonesville; one daughter, Debra Cahoon and husband, Elton, of Jena, La.; two stepdaughters, Jackie Rouse and husband, Raymond, of Jonesville and Gayle Beach of Houston, Texas; one stepson, Glynn Chevallier of Jonesville; one brother, Larry Chevallier of Jean, La.; two sisters, Cybil Ford of Alexandria, La., and Wanda Cantrell of Memphis, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Darren Smith, Jason White, Jay Ryan, Joel Smith, Josha Beach and Larry Chevallier.
Honorary pallbearers will be Davie Chevallier, Lincoln Bordelon, R.J. Bordelon, Raymond Rouse and Rosevelt Savage.
