Two Natchez men charged in gun theft

NATCHEZ — Two Natchez man have been charged in connection with the Monday theft of 12 guns from a Holly Court residence.

Erwin Nichols, 25, 118 Stinespring Road, and Franicis J. Torries, 21, 204 Holly Drive, were charged Friday with burglary. Nichols was also charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Natchez Lt. Craig Godbold said Nichols and Torries reportedly broke into the house of an acquaintance and stole an assortment of rifles and shotguns. Godbold said police have recovered 11 of the 12 stolen guns.
