NATCHEZ — Services for Bertha Mae Pollan, 84, of Natchez, who died Monday, April 16, 2012, at Glenburney Nursing Home, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McNeely Church of God with the Rev. Julius Roberts and the Rev. Tom Tapley officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
Mrs. Pollan was born July 12, 1927, in Cascilla, the daughter of Charlie Randolph and Bessie Smith Randolph. She was a member of McNeely Church of God. Her greatest joy was working in her church.
Mrs. Pollan loved her bus ministry in the early 1970s and caring for the elderly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Agnes Logan and Charlsie Kendall; one brother, Cecil Smith; and a special son-in-law, Fahy Everette Hodge Jr.
Survivors include seven children, Marjorie D. Hodge and Richard “Dickey” Pollan, both of Vidalia, Barbara J. Beetz, Rodney B. Pollan and Ronnie G. Pollan, all of Natchez, James “Randy” Pollan of Clayton and Vicky Lynn Lee and husband, Gregory P. Lee of Waterproof; seven grandchildren, Margie Mechele McClure, Chassity Cannon, Chris Hodge, Chad Pollan, Kelli Sproles, Mickie M. Pollan and Shane Pollan; and a number of nieces, nephews, friends and her church family.
Pallbearers will be Shane Pollan, Brandon McClure, William Roger Morris, Ray Sather, Ben Login and Chris Hodges.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gregory P. Lee and the men of McNeely Road Church of God.
The family extends thanks Glenburney Rehab and Health Care, Natchez Regional Medical Center and Dr. Leslie England.
