Pollard seeking re-election in Ward 3 alderman race

NATCHEZ — Bob Pollard recently announced his candidacy for re-election to the seat of Ward 3 alderman.

“I am a lifelong resident of Natchez and current Alderman for Ward 3 in my second term of office,” Pollard said.

He has been married to Shanna Hill for 33 years and they have three children, Hill, Colbey and Kelcey.

All five family members are college graduates.

Pollard and his family are all members of Parkway Baptist Church.

Colbey recently married to Eric Perry. His parents are Gus and Dawn Perry of Natchez.

Pollard is a 1973 graduate of South Natchez-Adams High School and received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1979.

He is a registered forester by profession.

He is a member of Natchez-Adams County Humane Society and a member of the Krewe of Phoenix. Pollard coached Dixie Youth Baseball Coach for eight years and was an AYA girl’s basketball coach for four years.

“I currently serve as chairman of the tourism committee, chairman of the fire committee and serve on the police committee, Pollard said. “Communication is the key to success, and I have that communication skill with all department heads.

“I believe the aldermen’s job is not part-time work, but full-time responsibility. I have and will continue to answer all telephone calls.”

Pollard said the city needs to continue to work diligently with all aspects of tourism to make Natchez a better destination location.

“Infrastructure is vital to our community, and we have made some improvements.,” he said. “Our street problem is being addressed now and hopefully will be corrected soon.

“I have enjoyed and worked hard during my two terms in office and wish to continue to serve all of Natchez and ask that Ward 3 voters decide to re-elect.”
